Thousand Oaks, Calif. (July 6, 2018) – Janss Marketplace, a community destination for shopping, dining, and entertainment in Thousand Oaks, celebrated their 17th Annual Fourth of July Firework Spectacular this past Wednesday. Over 4,500 guests traveled from all over the Ventura and Los Angeles counties to celebrate the free event with live music, food, and family activities – all ending in a dazzling view of the Thousand Oaks/Conejo Valley firework show with prime viewing from the top floor of the Janss Marketplace parking structure.
“The Fourth of July is always a special opportunity for communities to show their appreciation for their country, their cities and their neighborhoods,” remarked Sandy Sigal, President & CEO at Newmark Merrill Companies. “For 17 years now, Janss Marketplace has sponsored a Fireworks Spectacular viewing party on the roof of the parking structure. This event brings together members of the community with their families and friends to enjoy fine food sold by our merchants, to listen to great music, share in activities and contests for their kids, and most importantly create a special tradition of watching the incredible fireworks show put on by the City of Thousand Oaks.”
The event featured the 70s dance music party band, Funky Hippeez, and included bounce houses, face-painting, and interactive kids’ activities. Event participants enjoyed food and drinks from merchants like Buca di Beppo, Sunset Terrace and Azi Grill and learned more about the offerings of merchants like Sandbox Computers for Kids, offering math and computer camps all summer and the newest member of Janss Marketplace, DojoBoom Extreme Air Sports, a trampoline park with over 35,000 square feet of jumping and aerial fun.
“As one of our main goals is to make sure we are part of the fabric of the community, we are thrilled that last night’s show was watched by over 4,500 people at the event, and during the day almost 15,000 people came and visited the center and frequented our merchants,” continued Sigal. “We are so fortunate to be in a City like Thousand Oaks where Janss and the community are so intertwined.”
Janss Marketplace offers more community events throughout the summer, including a Summer Concert Series every Wednesday from 6PM – 8PM now through August 22, a monthly children’s craft event called “Kid’s Fun Zone” on the last Saturday of every month, and a Fit4Mom “Stroller Strides” event including Kids Club activities for infants and toddlers every Friday morning through October.
