Company’s former portfolio manager Jermaine McMihelk returns to firm to launch new business
Calabasas, CA (September 9th, 2024) – NewMark Merrill Companies, Inc., a Calabasas, California based retail shopping center owner and development company, is pleased to announce the launch of NewMark Merrill Hadler Community Partners, a new venture focused on the acquisition, development, management, and operation of retail centers in under-invested and under-supplied communities. The firm was co-founded by NewMark Merrill Companies President and CEO Sandy Sigal and former NewMark Merrill portfolio manager Jermaine McMihelk who will serve as Managing Director and oversee day-to-day operations.

McMihelk previously served as an Asset Manager with Primestor Development Inc., where he oversaw the operations and performance of their grocery-anchored shopping centers held in partnership with Federal Realty Investment Trust. Prior to that, he spent five years at NewMark Merrill, most recently serving as a portfolio manager. McMihelk also founded an investment business in which he opened the first African American-owned 7-Eleven franchise on historic Crenshaw Boulevard with 100% of employees being local. Additionally, McMihelk currently serves as Vice Chairman on the board of T.H.E. Health & Wellness Centers, which provides healthcare to 18,000 low-income patients across six locations in Los Angeles County.
