On Tuesday, March 16th, 2023, Norwalk’s City Council hosted a meeting to recognize Brent Sherman, Regional Property Manager at NewMark Merrill Companies, Inc., for his work and support of Norwalk’s Economic Development Task Force. The Task Force was established during the COVID Pandemic and is comprised of select business representatives throughout the city of Norwalk. The Task Force met regularly to discuss matters affecting businesses in Norwalk during the Pandemic. The Task Force was instrumental in executing the Small Business Loan Program which distributed over $575,000 in federal CARES Act funds to small business owners throughout the city.
“I am honored to be recognized by the city of Norwalk along with the rest of Norwalk’s Economic Development Task Force,” commented Brent Sherman. “The COVID Pandemic was a difficult time for everyone, in particular small businesses throughout our community. The most beneficial aspect of the task force was our involvement in the Small Business Loan Program where we helped deliver funds to 64 businesses throughout the city of Norwalk. Norwalk Town Square Shopping Center received nearly $80,000 in funds to 8 businesses helping them stay afloat during these difficult times. I have been involved in Norwalk Town Square for nearly 15 years. I am grateful to receive this recognition and very proud to be part of this Task Force!”
