View our Portfolio at www.newmarkmerrill.com. he 348,000 square foot Mission Marketplace shopping center jumpstarts 2017 with the announcement that it has signed a new lease with Target Corporation for a new full-line Target store at the shopping center. Mission Marketplace is located at 471 College Boulevard along the north side of Highway 76 in Oceanside. The new Target, which will bring more than 100 new jobs to the area and is slated to open during the fourth quarter this year. Other major retail- ers in the center include Sprouts, Petsmart, Ross Dress for Less, AMC Theatres (that recently acquired Carmike Cinemas), Big Lots and Fitness 19, which given the new Target store, makes it one of the largest and most-vibrant community centers in North San Diego County. The 89,000 square foot Target will be located in a space formerly occu- pied by Kmart and will be the size of almost two football fields. The new Target store will involve a full interior and exterior remodel of the building and include new sign monuments around the center. The new Target will include all the offerings of their traditional stores including apparel, electronics, grocery, pharmacy and a Starbucks. The addition of the major retailer comes at a time when on-line retail sales have seemingly impacted the growth of brick & mortar stores.
