The Center was awarded the Beautification Award for Sustainable Design and Innovation on behalf of the non-profit, City-sponsored, Keep Riverside Clean and Beautiful organization. There were about 1,100 people in attendance and University Village Property Manager, Kumari Prasad, accepted a plaque from Mayor Rusty Baily during the event.
The Center’s accomplishments related to the award include, new LED lighting, new energy-efficient HVAC/Ice Bear units (obtained at no cost through a City sponsored utility program) and wet waste composting. The Mayor gave a great overview of the City’s accomplishments and goals and also gave the Hero Award to March Airforce Base.
