Five Below Plans Soft Opening Feb. 19 in Longmont

Five Below discount store’s new Longmont location has a tentative soft opening date of Feb. 19, a company spokesperson confirmed in an email Wednesday.

Its grand opening is scheduled for a few days later on Feb. 23.

The store, which sells many of its products for between $1 and $5, will be at 1240 S. Hover St. Suite 500 at Village at the Peaks.

“Five Below is a leading high-growth value retailer offering trend-right, high-quality products loved by tweens, teens and beyond,” according to the company’s website.

“It kind of fits everybody. Anybody can go in there and find something,” Renatta Banning, marketing director and property manager at NewMark Merrill Mountain States, the shopping center’s owner, told BizWest. “We’re thrilled to have them. It’ll be a great fit for Longmont, and it’s going to help everybody out, including our tenants.”

Founded in Pennsylvania in 2002, Five Below, today, has more than 1,300 stores in 42 states including Colorado.

Many of Five Below’s other Colorado stores are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

According to BizWest, the space previously was home to a Tuesday Morning retailer. That company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last year and closed most of its stores including all locations in Colorado. The Tuesday Morning store in the Longmont space now occupied by Five Below closed March 31.
